Greetings All ! I
would like to welcome you to my website. My name is Dwayne, and
I am a naturopathic practitioner with a lifetime of dedication to all
things natural, organic and unadulterated.I was born and raised on a five-hundred acre beef, dairy, grain and row-crop farm. My kinship to nature began during my childhood on that farm. We always had fresh fruit, vegetable, meats and nuts that was all grown there by my family. At an early age I knew what direction I wanted to take as a career, but that direction began to alter when I was about eighteen. After being away from home for a while, I begin to see how the common American lifestyle was effecting the health of people. I didn't need to be a rocket scientist to see that. It was obvious. Initially, It was a shock to me that people did not have access to the same resources that I had as a youth in reference to the abundance and variety of fresh foods that I so commonly enjoyed. I had just taken my upbringing for granted up until that point. I went to college, worked at various jobs, one of which was the department of Agriculture, but never felt like I was accomplishing anything to help, aid and assist people in a way that I knew I could. At this point, I decided to go back to school and pursue my passion for a more naturalistic career. Having familiarizing myself with, and researched the various modalities of natural health itself, I finally decided on Naturopathy as a career. It seemed to be in line with my philosophy of life. I applied, and within a short time, was accepted into naturopathic medical college. After many years of study and determination, I graduated with the degree Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (NMD). Within one year of graduation, I obtained Board Certification from the American Alternative Medical Association. My philosophy on health and wellness is really quite straight-forward. Biologically speaking, the basic concept of health is in the understanding that we are simply organic beings made from the raw elements of nature, as such, our system is in constant need of these various elements to build, repair and maintain itself. If you give your body the simple raw materials it needs, in ample supplies, then total optimal health will be continually realized. The trouble we face in obtaining the necessary required elements from the foods we eat is due to modern twentieth and twenty-first century agricultural practices. Our soils in North America have been constantly depleting themselves of nutrients for over a hundred years. Modern agriculture does not allow for the production of such nutrient dense foods. They current structure of agricultural business makes the production of such foods prohibitive, therefore, people directly concerned with their general health are having to seek alternative sources to obtain rich, wholesome and unadulterated foods in which to sustain themselves adequately. In my opinion, it would be easy for the government to subsidize a program to encourage farmers to produce nutrient dense foods, just as they subsidize other, more non-essential programs, but that is a story for another time. To further expand upon my biological reference, not only do our bodies need vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids and enzymes in appropriately balanced amounts in order to sustain physical health, but our minds and spirit also need a sufficient supply of enriching elements that ultimately factor into a comprehensive state of general well-being, or homeostasis, as it is sometimes referred. The basic reason that I choose Naturopathy as my ultimate career field is because it approaches an issue or situation from many directions, thereby increasing the potential of achieving a successful resolution. Naturopathy encompasses an in-depth array of modalities that are unique unto themselves, but they are skillfully integrated by the practitioner specific to each individual case. Naturopathy routinely encompass the following areas:
Naturopathy is a comprehensive and efficient healthcare system that concentrates entirely on 'building health', rather than 'maintaining disease', unfortunately like the modern medical profession is so prone to do, therefore, it is for the reasons I have just stated, that I consider myself a "Holistic Naturist." If I can be of any assistance to you, or your family, please feel free to contact me for a consultation at any time. I currently work full time at my private practice and periodically appear on various internet radio podcasts talking about natural health and wellness. If you would like to know anything else, please feel free to email me. Sincerely, Dwayne, The Holistic Naturist |
